The Deccan Odyssey is a premier luxury train in India, offering 7-night, 8-day journeys across Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and beyond. Launched in 2004 by Indian Railways and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, it features 21 coaches with 12 passenger cars accommodating up to 88 guests. The Palace on Wheels is India's premier luxury train, inaugurated in 1982 by Indian Railways and the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. Inspired by the personal coaches of erstwhile Indian royalty, it offers a 7-night, 8-day journey through Rajasthan and Agra. The itinerary includes stops at Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Ranthambore National Park, Bharatpur, and the Taj Mahal in Agra. The train features 14 air-conditioned coaches, each named after former princely states, housing 39 deluxe and 2 super deluxe cabins adorned with traditional Rajasthani decor. Onboard amenities encompass two restaurants—Maharaja and Maharani—a bar lounge, spa, and personalized butler service, ensuring a comfortable and culturally immersive experience .
